Thank you for helping to keep our pantry full!..
Food Pantry Bags -January 2021
The Helping Hand Pantry is serving a greatly increased number of families (approximately 250 per week). The increase is due to the economic strain of job losses (seasonal workers) and closures caused by current public health concerns (COVID-19).
We appreciate your help and support at this time more than ever.
We are open for non-perishable food donations Monday 10am-2pm & Saturday 10-1pm. Tuesday-Friday 10-11am and 1-4pm or you can help us by donating to our Pantry & Family Meal Fund.
Thank you for helping! Together, we are the safety-net that our community can fall back on during times of need.
Currently needed items to pack relief bags for pantry clients
Many more families are finding themselves "food insecure" at this time. We have given out over 12,000 food bags since March 21.
We will resume purchasing through grocery distributors in bulk as needed and donations are delivered to HHRM by truck weekly. These purchases are offset with food donations received our non-perishable food bill is currently about $1500/week.
Our USDA perishables grant partnership with PROJECT HOPE has come to an end. We would like to continue providing milk, eggs, meat & fresh fruit & veggies as we are able. We love to give as much fresh food as possible alongside the non-perishables.
We also appreciate and need your donations. $45.00 sponsors a 2 week supply pantry bag for a family. Thank you.
We provide bread and baked goods as available primarily through a partnership with Stew Leonard's of Farmingdale.
We have been receiving donations from Target 1 day a week, Makinajian Farms has been making donations monthly.
St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Huntington Station has been providing about 50 lbs of protein a week which we add to our pantry bags.
These things are so wonderful and people appreciate the extra goods so much.
Thank you for your help during these challenging days of service.
Your help means the world to our families, and to us as we continue to serve through the duration of this COVID-19 pandemic.
We wouldn't be able to keep our doors open for them without your help and support. Every donation, literally every donation, matters to our community now more than ever.
We're so grateful to have your strength and compassion behind us.
Thank you. We are serving together.
Thank you for your love, help and support!
