Rev. Rose Marie Gaines co-founded the Helping Hand Rescue Mission in Huntington Station, New York with her beloved husband Rev. J.A. Gaines and her mother, Mrs. Florence E. Meringola in November of 1965.
It was their life's work, ministry and heart and soul.
Rev. Rose Marie Gaines had a two week hospital stay after receiving unexpected news that she had a mass on her lung on February 23, 2017. One physical complication led to another in a series of unexpected health events and Rev. Gaines went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2017 at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.
Her legacy, the Helping Hand Rescue Mission will continue on under the direction of her daughter, Rev. Kimberly Gaines-Gambino as Rev. Gaines desired.
Gifts may be made to Helping Hand Rescue Mission in loving memory of Rev. Gaines.
Helping Hand Rescue Mission has served the needs of the Huntington Township and Long Island community, providing food, clothing, household items, spiritual refreshment and many holiday resources and services throughout the year at no charge to its recipients.
May God richly bless you for helping us to help others and remembering this woman who served in her hometown of Huntington Station for many years.
All gifts are tax-deductible (501 (c) 3) and will be acknowledged with a receipt.
