Helping Hand Rescue Mission Community Outreach Center

Loving, Serving, and Giving in our beautiful Huntington Station community (and beyond) since 1965.

I WANT TO VOLUNTEER I NEED HELP

The beautiful Community Kitchen construction is complete and we have received our C.O. however, an issue came up with "Make Up Air"  after the fact. It is in the process of being corrected which will take a little bit of time. After that is completed we can schedule our Health Department Inspection.  We are almost there. It is our heart and goal to be serving our community in this new space as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone who is supporting this project.

Toy Drive 2025-SUCCESS!

Thank you for making our 2025 Holiday Season one of our BEST EVER!

over 1000 children received toys, over 700 attended one of 3 BEAUTIFUL parties and we were able to share with 11 other organizations this season...food, clothing and new toys! What an OVERFLOW BLESSING!

If You Volunteered with Us this Christmas-THANK YOU

🎁 To Our Amazing Santa’s Elves… THANK YOU! 🎁

Do you love wrapping presents for kids in need?
Clearly, you do — and because of that, something truly special happened this Christmas.

In the week leading up to Christmas, you showed up with joyful hearts, willing hands, and an incredible spirit of generosity. Because of you, 700+ local children and their families were celebrated, honored, and reminded that they are deeply loved at our three Christmas Parties on December 20th.

There were toys, tape, wrapping paper, laughter, and holiday cheer galore — but most of all, there was love. Every gift wrapped was more than a present… it was hope, dignity, and joy placed into a child’s hands.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for saying yes, for giving your time, and for being the hands and feet of kindness this season. Christmas would not have been the same without you. 🎄❤️

With endless gratitude,
✨ Your Grateful HHRM Family ✨

About Us

The Mission was founded in 1965 by Reverend J.A. Gaines, his wife, Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and her mother, Florence E. Meringola. After witnessing local poverty and food insecurity first hand, they invested everything that they had into building Helping Hand Rescue Mission with the view that if they could help even one person it was worth it. They sacrificed much to build a strong community center and leave a legacy of Loving, Serving, and Giving as witness to the love of God to be carried on. Their prayer was for the HHRM to remain a "lighthouse" in our community.
