Helping Hand Rescue Mission Community Outreach Center

Loving, Serving, and Giving in our beautiful Huntington Station community (and beyond) since 1965.

I WANT TO VOLUNTEER I NEED HELP

We appreciate the continued support of our community as we complete some final steps and look forward to serving in this space as soon as all approvals are in place. This is taking longer than originally expected but it is in progress. Thank you for all that you'e done to help us move this project forward.

Sharing The Love & Hope

In Every Season

We believe love changes lives. Through compassion, service, and faith in action, we share hope with individuals and families—reminding them they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Volunteers-Thank You!

As we embrace the warmth and energy of summer, we are especially grateful for our volunteers who continue to serve with open hearts and willing hands. Through the heat, the busy days, and every challenge, you've sorted, stocked, packed, carried, listened, and loved—always making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Summer is a season of activity and opportunity. As families gather, children enjoy school break, and community needs continue to grow, your faithful service ensures that no one has to face difficult times alone. Because of you, our neighbors experience compassion, dignity, and hope in practical ways every single day.

As we look forward to the months ahead—with back-to-school preparations, special outreach events, and ongoing ministry throughout our community—we do so with hearts full of gratitude. You are part of every meal shared, every family encouraged, every child blessed, and every life touched.

Thank you for giving your time, your kindness, and your heart to Helping Hand Rescue Mission. Your faithful service reflects God's love in action, and together we are making a lasting difference in our community. We truly could not do this without you.

About Us

The Mission was founded in 1965 by Reverend J.A. Gaines, his wife, Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and her mother, Florence E. Meringola. After witnessing local poverty and food insecurity first hand, they invested everything that they had into building Helping Hand Rescue Mission with the view that if they could help even one person it was worth it. They sacrificed much to build a strong community center and leave a legacy of Loving, Serving, and Giving as witness to the love of God to be carried on. Their prayer was for the HHRM to remain a "lighthouse" in our community.
