Helping Hand Rescue Mission Community Outreach Center

Loving, Serving, and Giving in our beautiful Huntington Station community (and beyond) since 1965.

I WANT TO VOLUNTEER

We are 85% of the way to completing the Community Kitchen Project, but we need approximately $110,000 to finish. This homelike space will provide fresh, nutritious meals to food-insecure families, veterans, senior citizens, the homeless, and many more! With your support, we can make it happen!

About Us

The Mission was founded in 1965 by Reverend J.A. Gaines, his wife, Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and her mother, Florence E. Meringola. After witnessing local poverty and food insecurity first hand, they invested everything that they had into building Helping Hand Rescue Mission with the view that if they could help even one person it was worth it. They sacrificed much to build a strong community center and leave a legacy of Loving, Serving, and Giving as witness to the love of God to be carried on. Their prayer was for the HHRM to remain a "lighthouse" in our community.
