Donation Hours and Accepted Items

Tuesday-Friday: 10-11am & 1-2pm

Saturday 10am-1pm

NO BLACK GARBAGE BAGS PLEASE  - they are hard for to sort and many people put items we are not accepting in those bags that we cannot see through. Bring donations in tall kitchen bags, clear bags, or boxes/tubs - our volunteer sorters thank you! :)

We CANNOT accept donations left outside while closed.  It is a safety hazard, and keeping our door and parking lot organized and accessible is a way we respect the families visiting our pantry!

We are currently accepting:

  • Unexpired food - non-perishables and fresh produce
  • Household items & small counter appliances
  • Diapers & baby wipes - size 4, 5 & 6 especially needed!
  • Cleaning supplies and hygiene items - new and unopened
  • Financial donations  to keep our mission running!
  • New and gently used FALL/Light Winter clothing at this time. We cannot accept out of season clothing.
  • Hygiene supplies- Shampoo Conditioner, Soap, Razors, Feminine Hygiene, Body lotion, cosmetics,

  Body Sprays, Deodorant etc.

  • Toddler clothing - we accept baby and toddler clothing all year round. We especially need boys & girls WINTER CLOTHING  size 3T, 4T & 5T.

We currently cannot accept:

  • ANYTHING when we are closed. This helps us to keep everything organized and keeps our parking lot safe during our distributions and closed hours. Please do not leave donations outside unattended.
  • Full house clean outs of any type
  • Black garbage bags full of clothing or items because they are very difficult for us to sort and process.
  • Out of season clothing - we do not have room to store it. Thanks for understanding!
  • Furniture (but you can contact us for our Furniture Placement Program to be paired with a family in need - email photos and dimensions of furniture/mattresses to be donated to admin@hhrm.org)
  • Books - The only books we can ever accept are children's books in very limited quantities. We cannot accept text books, novels, encyclopedias, or any sort of library clean out.

Become a Monthly Mission Partner!

Join us in committing to our community! Monthly Mission Partners (MMP's) are the backbone of the Mission’s financial support, and we couldn’t do our work without them. Knowing that we have stable, predictable incoming donations allows us to keep our doors open, stay focused on the community, and make plans for the future. They keep our lights and heat on, our building insurance paid, and our staff in the building--the long and short of it is you keep us here so that there will always be a place for people in need to go, and we are so grateful.

It's very easy to set up your recurring donation to HHRM online.

$20 on the 20th

Every 20th of the month, we have a donation campaign day for $20 donations! $20 might not seem like much, but here at the Mission, a little goes a LONG way! $20 can provide some groceries or non-perishables. $20 can help to provide a week’s supply of baby wipes and diapers for a child in need, hygiene products for families (toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, toothbrush/toothpaste) all items not available for purchase with a "benefits" card. It also helps us cover the costs of being open, keeps the fridges and freezers running so we can have fresh food for our clients, helps provide heat and A/C so volunteers can go about their work, and all those invisible costs, like insurance and having the gutters cleaned and the parking lot plowed in the winter, that keep our building functional for everyone in need.

Pantry & Family Meal Fund

The Pantry and Family Meal Fund was established to combat food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic—and continues to do so today. A donation of just $45 provides a pantry bag for a family in need. This fund also helps us restock essential pantry items, purchase specialized supplies like baby formula tailored to a child's needs, and provide other critical items that may not be regularly available through our Food Pantry.

As families face rising food prices, inflation, and increasing housing costs, our pantry serves as a vital safety net for the community. Each month, we purchase thousands of dollars' worth of non-perishable food in bulk. We also receive food from drives and individual food donations. Every donation is appreciated no matter how big or small.

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, we’re able to find the best deals, manage pickups, and pack pantry bags that support more than 1,000 families every month.

Matching Gifts

WHAT ARE MATCHING GIFTS? Matching gifts are a type of corporate philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they’ll request the matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio. Check with your company to see if they will match your donation. It's an additional gift to HHRM! What a blessing!

Gifts in Memoriam or Tribute

Honor the memory of a loved one or pay tribute to someone who’s touched your life with a gift to the Helping Hand Rescue Mission. All memorial and tribute gifts will be acknowledged with a receipt and also with a letter to the family of the loved one or to the person or family being honored. All gifts are tax-deductible. Thank you for remembering someone special by giving to Helping Hand Rescue Mission. Your gift is greatly needed and appreciated. (follow the prompt when making donation) or call our office to set up a special donation page with a private link that can be shared with family and friends.

If you choose to have gifts in memoriam or tribute, please contact us by email at admin@hhrm.org. We need your contact information to communicate about gift acknowledgments etc.

Thank you.
