Food Pantry

The Helping Hand Rescue Mission Pantry is serving 250+ families per week with non-perishable and fresh produce, fruit, meat, eggs (as available), milk (as available) and bread. Thank you for helping!

Absolutely—here is the refined version with that context added gently and respectfully, without naming specific programs:

Food Pantry

Together, we are a safety net our community can rely on during times of uncertainty. For many of our neighbors—especially those who rely on government food assistance—these times can feel unpredictable and overwhelming. Helping Hand Rescue Mission remains committed to meeting immediate needs with compassion and dignity.

Over the past several years, we have seen a steady increase in the number of individuals and families seeking support. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have been able to serve everyone who has come through our doors. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of kindness that makes this work possible.

Since March 21, 2020, we have distributed over 100,000 food parcels, currently serving approximately 1,000 families each month. Our pantry is sustained through strong partnerships with schools, faith communities, youth and civic organizations, local businesses, and countless individuals and families who give faithfully. We also supplement donations by purchasing food in bulk each week—including fresh milk—to ensure consistent, nutritious offerings for those we serve.

We could not do this work without you. Your support matters now more than ever, and its impact is felt across our entire community.

Looking ahead, our Community Kitchen is complete, however, we have encountered a problem with a need for a "make up air" solution which our architect and engineers are currently working to correct and we eagerly anticipate opening our doors for expanded service and volunteer opportunities. Once finished, we will again be able to provide hot, freshly prepared meals, restoring a vital source of nourishment, connection, and care for our neighbors in need.

Together, we are feeding hope—one family at a time.

Community Closet

We're providing clothes for local families in need.

The Helping Hand Rescue Mission Community Closet provides new and gently used seasonally-appropriate clothing to anyone in need during our pantry distribution hours--thanks to the wonderful donors in our community that gather these items to be shared. We are currently holding our Community Closet outdoors most every day as weather permits simply because we are serving too many families to hold distributions inside of our building.

Appropriate clothing can be a genuinely difficult expense for families, especially since most have children that are always growing. They are truly grateful to receive the clothes they need, and we are grateful to help to provide them.

We accept seasonally appropriate clothing that has been

  • freshly washed,
  • sorted by size and gender,
  • and placed on hangers or in clear plastic bags or shopping bags for easy management
  • during our donation hours.

Helping Hand Rescue Mission is still focusing its energies and the space in its building on meeting the greatly increased food need. Having clean clothes donated that are freshly laundered, sorted and ready to go out to the people makes the Community Closet possible, and we are so thankful for all the love that people put into getting these items ready for new homes. We accept all sizes, from infant to adult. We are not able to accept out of season clothing (except for newborn to 5T due to storage issues).
Please make sure all donated socks and underwear are new!

We are accepting household goods in excellent to new condition during our donation hours. They must be clean, sets of cups, kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans, kitchen towels, freshly laundered sheets and towels or small decorator items. WE DO NOT TAKE HOUSEHOLD CLEAN OUTS PLEASE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING. Please do not bring things that should be thrown out. (we mean that most respectfully)

We are ideally in need of a large, local 7,000-10.000 square foot warehouse space with a large parking lot to house our community outreaches and events. It would be so much better than having to move literally many van and truck loads of items for off campus monthly outreaches etc. which we are doing right now. We are praying for God's provision for this need. If you know someone who has this type of space and would allow us to use it, please let them know about our work.
