Community Kitchen Project

Welcome to the Community Kitchen at Helping Hand.

This homelike space will provide fresh, nutritious meals to food-insecure families, children, veterans, senior citizens, the homeless, and many more!

Unfortunately, we continue to experience delays due to construction and compliance issues that must be corrected before the kitchen can safely open. We know how important this kitchen is to our community, and we share everyone’s disappointment.

We are working diligently with the appropriate professionals to determine the safest and most responsible path forward. Thank you for your continued patience, prayers, and support.

Donate to the Community Kitchen I'm interested in volunteering when the kitchen opens. Add me to the list.

Thank You to Long Island Home Builders Care for the $17,000+ donation for beautiful furniture and necessary appliances for our Community Kitchen. Having beautiful, homelike furniture helps visitors at our community kitchen to feel at ease, and restores a feeling of dignity and value to individuals and families coming for a meal. This furniture helps to make a statement that the kitchen doesn't just provide meals - it's a place of connection, compassion, and dignity.

Thank you National Grid for their generous grant of $50,000 through their "project c" program. Their commitment to community development and giving back has made such a difference in the completion of this project. National Grid's partnership provides community connection, mobilizing the resources of their well-established business for massive generosity on a local level.
